Freddie Rousseau emphasized the need for employers, national and
international alike, to understand the context in which Aceh local
human resources has been interacting, that is, the conflict and
the tsunami catastrophe. While praising the relative good quality
of Aceh local human resources, Freddie underlined the need for the
locals to equip themselves with better interpersonal skills,
especially language skill (English). In retrospect, he also urged
the national and international employers to learn more about
Acehnese culture and language.
ILO Banda Aceh and The Aceh Institute are initiating an English
Coffee Hours where local staffs from various organizations can
interact with foreign staffs in an informal setting after their
busy working hours in Aceh.
